Tween Girls Bedroom Moodboard

Bedroom styling holds a special place in our hearts and we’ve definitely helped a few clients with theirs over the years. We’re currently at 27 bedroom designs…and counting (let’s forget for a moment about the hundreds we’ve also styled for sale, it makes us tired just thinking about it!). And while adult retreats are all about luxury and seclusion, we get to mix things up a little and have a bit more fun with kids bedrooms.

Our brief from this 10yo pocket rocket was simply that she liked aqua, grey and blush colours. She didn’t want anything too girly and her Mum wanted a room she could grow with, into her teens. So we pulled together this delicious moodboard based on these insights. A moodboard is always our first presentation to the client - it ensures we’re on the right track.

Once we knew we’d nailed the brief, we looked to include her three favourite colours in differing quantities. No room needs to have aqua walls! Helpfully, the room was already neutral with white walls and a lovely grey wool carpet. From there we layered texture in the form of a blush linen bedhead, interesting woven artwork, a wooden desk and bedside plus a leather desk chair. We also included a bean bag style chair to chill out, and an arch mirror which is useful but also a little different to a standard rectangular mirror.

Stay tuned for images of the finished room!
