CASTLECRAG 01

FULL RENOVATION

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We worked with an architect and builder to deliver this project, which was a full renovation drawing inspiration from the original home built in 1953. Taking advantage of the northern aspect, every room of the house was stripped back to bare brick with the kitchen, living and laundry spaces being completely reconfigured. A new glass pavilion was then built between the existing home and garage. Oh, and a granny flat was incorporated back into the internal footprint. And of course, completion had to be within six months of the start date. Sounds pretty simple right!  After a few sleepless nights spent gathering our thoughts, we charged on.

To reference the local Walter Burley Griffin architecture, we developed a natural material palette of off-form concrete, bluestone, sandstone and oak. High-end fixtures and fittings were then specified to finish off this luxury home.

The result is a streamlined, grounded home with generous living spaces to see the family from toddler through to teenage years.
